A machine seam with the return hair removed, so you get the density of a machine weft and the profile of a hand-tied one. Cut it into three pieces for a short row behind the ear and nothing sheds.

This is the workhorse for a first install. Faster to lay than hand-tied, forgiving on fine hair, and it holds a full head in around ninety minutes once you have the sectioning down.
